The Oil and Gas Secretariat is a temporary organization created by MLTC to fast track certain opportunities in the oil and gas sector. Its initial operational term is for three years and at the end of that period it will be absorbed into the ongoing operations of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council.
The Oil and Gas Secretariat takes its policy direction from an executive committee of three Chiefs. Its operational activities involve it with two functional units of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council: the Economic Development Branch of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council and the Commercial Projects Corporation of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council.
