The Birch Narrows Dene Nation has strong economic and health services. Governed by a chief and four councilors and consisting of approximately 580 members. The Birch Narrows Dene Nation works to sustain its services and to promote healthy lifestyles among its people. The community is situated adjacent to Northern Hamlet of Turnor Lake in Northwest Saskatchewan. Natural environment an important component of the community's health, economic development and traditional practices. Tourism projects are also increasing with the operation of a band owned fly-in fishing camp and exploration of new eco-tourism opportunities.
