Community Profiles: Clearwater River Dene Nation
     The Clearwater River Dene Nation is the northern-most community of MLTC located on the banks of the Clearwater River, south of La Loche, Saskatchewan. This Dene Nation continues its development projects in the areas of infrastructure and economic development to benefit a growing population of approximately 1435 members. This Dene Nation has one chief and five councilors with community facilities that include a community hall, fire hall, store, gas station, school, nursery/preschool and an outdoor rink. The Administration office holds a health centre and radio station with band investments that include a catering service, rafting tours, and forestry and logging operations. Traditional activities such as fishing, hunting, berry picking and mushroom picking provide some band members with additional income. Community growth remains a top priority for all members of Clearwater River.
