Economic Development is a program designed to expand the ability of the
Meadow Lake First Nations communities to create, produce, and manage
wealth through the development of business, training and employment
opportunities for First Nations members. The program increases the
success of economic ventures by providing the necessary support and
opportunity to the First Nations members, resulting in the creation of
healthier individuals, communities, and families. Five Meadow Lake
Tribal Council programs are run under the authority of the Meadow Lake
Tribal Council Economic Development Commission. These programs include
training and employment, agriculture, technical programming, business
development and youth and sports. Each program delivers the necessary
support services to the Meadow Lake First Nations in their respective
fields.
Economic development activity is regularly monitored
throughout the region. The key data required is identified and
information is collected regarding community and individual economic
development activity. This allows for the economic development program
to gear its focus towards the prevalent industries in the region to
ensure that all business, training and employment opportunities are
fully taken advantage of. |
