Community Profiles: English River First Nation
     The community of English River First Nation consists of approximately 1265 members settling in two regions of northeastern Saskatchewan. The main community is located next to Patuanak, SK while other members live at La Plonge, near Beauval, SK. Governed by a chief and six councilors, English River remains focused on health and continues to develop new opportunities to improve the quality of life for this growing community. The community maintains a vibrant economy with members employed at the band office, health center, radio station, community store, and the school. There is also seasonal employment and traditional activities such as hunting, fishing, berry picking, and handicrafts. English River First Nation also owns numerous businesses including New North, Tron Power, and the Cree Lake Fishing Camp.
